Manage Profile Properties

I made a mistake by defining a field for the profile, and its blank, with nothing from the pull down. I set it at a required field when you login. Now I am stuck because I cannot log back into my system until I have that drop down list having something.

How can I fix this?

I have tried to login with Admin, Host, and all my other accounts, and all of them get prompted with this REQUIRED FIELD. All the other management profile settings I can fill out, except for just this 1 drop down box.

I cannot find information out there that discusses how to fix, and I would really appreciate your advise.

Thanks,

Adam

Hello,

I think the only way to fix this is to edit the data in your SQL database. I've done a quick test and it seems to work, but I would recommend you create a BACKUP before attempting this.

Access your DNN database, go to the ProfilePropertyDefinition table, right click select 'Open Table'

scroll to the bottom and at the end you should see the property that you have most recently added, click on the lhs arrow to select the row, press delete to delete that row of data.

You will need to restart your DNN portal for the settings to take effect as it stores the settings in cache.

Hope this helps,

Your other option, rather than deleting would be to edit the data for that row so that it is not a required field - which maybe the safer option.
